I used to buy the plastic dryer balls until I started seeing the wool ones. I like the idea that they are a natural fiber and not plastic and these are much quieter bouncing around in the dryer. You do need to use them properly to get the faster drying results. I wrap large items – such as towels and sheets with a couple of dryer balls inside and put one in each pillow case. I also scatter them among clothes so that they just don’t roll around the outside of the clothes.

I love these because you don’t have to use dryer sheets which are not sustainable and also can harm any wildlife that gets into the sheets. You can always spray a favorite scent on them like lavender or something, but I don’t. They help dry any size load of laundry and last a LONG time. The only time I had to get a new batch is when one of our dogs decided to play with one of them LOL. Fortunately I got the ball out of their mouths before they swallowed any fabric! So if you want to help the environment, or any animals such as birds, etc. (or dogs), use these and they last forever.

My wife asked me to buy them for her, and she feels they work quite well. Although they do make some bumping noises while drying clothes, it isn’t loud, and after a bit of time, you get used to it. Each person will have to decide what they do for the drying times, or fluffiness. I wasn`t using anything prior to them and the items in the dryer rarely have static cling or drying issues, so at this point it was a curiosity about trying dryer balls more than a real need for them. Never did use the scented dryer sheets — don`t want any scents in my clothing and other things anyway — am chemically sensitive to anything like that. So these dryer balls are great and while I cannot determine different results because of them, (at least it doesn`t seem different), I like using them. I’ve noticed that if I use all the dryer balls, they tend to make noise at the beginning of the drying cycle. However, as the clothes get drier and softer due to the balls, the noise decreases or even disappears completely. I’ve also tried using fewer balls to see if that reduces the noise and to check if the clothes remain as soft as when I use all the balls. I can’t really discern a difference, so I’ve started using fewer balls in my laundry, which works just fine. When the balls get old, they start to accumulate lint, which signals to me that it’s time to purchase new ones.

I was skeptical but I was also tired of using dryer sheets, full of chemicals, so I ordered the wool dryer balls. To my amazement, after drying a large load of laundry with one wool dryer ball in this mix, my clothes had zero static, zero lint, and zero pet hair (I have a dog and long-haired cat). This load of laundry was scent free but somehow my clothes still smelled fresh. For the next load, I added pure essential oil drops to the wool dryer ball (Lavender, otto rose, and sandalwood) and my clothes and blankets smelled amazing. The instructions state that one wool dryer ball will last like a 1,000 washes (i forgot the exact number of times it can be reused, but it’s a lot). I have been using the same two dryer balls (one scented and one unscented) for a few months now and they still work just fine. If you’re sick of paying through the nose for chemical filled dryer sheets that you use once and throw away, give these wool dryer balls a try. They are better for your budget, your clothes, your dryer, and the environment! I would give 10 stars if I could!!

This is the second time I have ordered these. I can leave them in the dryer and never take them out until I feel they are getting dirty (long hair that sticks to towels and clothes tends to go through the wash, but the balls grab them). Lint will stick to the balls at times, also. (But these are the reasons I like them — my clothes and towels come out clean!) The balls definitely make a difference when drying small loads, so the laundry doesn’t just sit in the bottom of the dryer; and when drying large loads, it keeps things tossed around so that they dry quicker. I purchased these compressed wool dryer balls mostly out of curiosity. As a devout user of fabric softener dryer sheets, I could not understand how these could possibly work. At my first use, I became a true believer. The dryer contained a full washer load of mixed general laundry: underwear, a few shirts, a heavy quilted pillow cover, and towels from the kitchen and two bathrooms. From some recommendation or other, I also reduced the normal medium dryer temperature to low. When I unloaded the dryer, I was delighted to see that the clothes were just warm, entirely dry, and all but one cotton blend shirt was wrinkle free or close to it. The one shirt would require a quick iron touchup. The great results have continued for several months, and I still have no idea how they happen, but they do. The balls themselves are good as new and should easily last for a year or longer. If you are looking to save a little money and do the environment a small favor, I recommend giving this simple solution a try.

These sounded like a good idea so I decided to give them a try. Normally, I use a dryer sheet and two “dryer balls”, those hard plastic ones, so that I can hear when the dryer shuts off, as I live alone. I left the plastic dryer balls in and tossed in two of the woolen Budieggs to see what they’d do…no dryer sheet. Well, the first load of clothing I took out of the dryer was loaded with static electricity! What a shocker to me, I wasn’t expecting that at all! Hmmm .. just didn’t make sense to me unless they needed “breaking in”.
I at first was puzzled, then decided to just give them a second chance and dried another load of clothing in the same manner.. The second load was just as you’d expect, no static, no wrinkles, a perfect job and no dryer sheet to bother with. Many loads later, I’m sold!! A great idea!!

They are very economical as they last for years-they are a great alternative to those with sensitivity to perfumed dryer sheets and they ¡°fluff¡± items in the dryer making them dry faster and the items have more loft when finished drying. If you wash blankets and comforters they are a necessity to even out the fill in them.
I just replaced my dryer balls for the first time in 10years as I washed something that shed very heavily and the lint was all over the dryer balls. Also if you like the fragrance of dryer sheets without the sensitivity simply dab some essential oil on the dryer balls. My favorite is lavender. Due to these being made of sheep¡¯s wool they also cut down on static.

I’ve been using these dryer balls for 6 months now, and they have replaced my liquid fabric softener. For most clothing, the dryer balls handle most of the wrinkles and static. Of course, as with any fabric softener, the things that need ironing are still going to need ironing, but these dryer balls perform at least as well as the liquid fabric softener I was previously using, but without leaving residue on the fabric. They have also measurably sped up the drying time, presumably because the balls bounce around among the items in the dryer, allowing more air circulation. The dryer seems to run a lot more efficiently with these, even just on the air-dry setting. Highly recommended.

They keep bed sheets from ending up in a big ball with the middle still damp. The balls also eliminate static electricity just like dryer sheets. My clothes come out smelling fresh without extra fragrances and pretty much wrinkle free if I take them out as soon as the cycle ends. I just leave all 6 balls in the dryer. Sometimes it’s funny that one will get stuck in a sleeve or a pantleg.

What is concerning for me is the growing reliance on chemicals, additives, and the marketing ploy of making you unsatisfied with clean clothes. First they pointed out static cling. Then the clothes had to smell good out of the dryer. Then they had to smell good longer. The final absurdity was that your clothes ‘have to’ smell good all day.
The amount of chemicals and their unknown composition should be ringing alarms for most everyone, especially parents of young children. There have been no long-term studies of what these chemicals do to the body.

*I had purchased the first time in 2018, and my daughter decided to try mine recently, and kept them! We both are sensitive to fabric softeners. So I went to order more and they were temporarily out of stock. So instead of waiting, I purchased another brand…BIG MISTAKE! The other brand stunk like a barn, even airing them out did nothing. Snug Pad has no scent. The other brand was off white with little brown spots, Snug Pad is white and pristine. Snug pad is also larger than the other brand. I returned the other brand and when Snug Pad was available again I purchased new ones. As long as Snug Pad is around they are the only ones I will use. Who would have thought a person could get so excited about wool balls, LOL.

I have been using these since April 2023 and they are still in great condition. Before first use I washed them on cold, and I’ve been using them in the dryer since. Never noticed any odd smell, never had lint on my laundry (and I wear a lot of black!).
I haven’t bought dryer sheets since purchasing these. I use them for clothes, bedding, towels – everything.
To use them, I simply leave all of them in the dryer! I unload my laundry and they stay in there until next time. Exceptionally easy!
I adore this product. I’m saving money (since I no longer have to buy dryer sheets), reducing waste, using something natural rather than the chemicals and Lord knows what from traditional dryer sheets, saving even more money by using the dryer for shorter periods of time. They seem to reduce wrinkling well!

A bit smelly at first. But then it works well. Soft clothes and towels that are absorbent and completely dried more quickly than with just a dryer sheet. I have read that I can add a little of my favorite scent and seal the balls in a large jar for a day or two, for nice smelling laundry. But I don’t think it’s necessary.

I wanted some of these wool balls after visiting a relative who used them and liked them.
These come in a bag to keep them in. Before I used them, I tossed all of the balls along with the bag into the dryer and let them ‘dry’ for about 40 minutes. Just made me feel better to do that.
My clothes do come out feeling softer and not wrinkly. As for static, there were a couple of items that were staticky but not all of them. However, I do know that with my relative’s wool dryer balls they did that for a few dries and then the static wasn’t as bad. Ultimately, I think it will be according to what kind of clothing and maybe even what time of year–like here, it is winter and very dry outside and inside.
I didn’t have any lint or residue on my clothes after use.
I didn’t find them loud. I put all of them in a load of regular clothes and every so often I could hear a dryer ball hit the sides, but it didn’t bother me–I put a video of my clothes drying so you could hear it, and I was close to the dryer.
I also did a load of towels and boy that’s where I saw the difference! I don’t use softener on my towels ever because it builds up on towels and will make them less absorbing over time. But these dryer balls made my towels feel softer and even thicker and fluffier–there was a noted difference.
I would consider putting essential oil on half of these to use with my towels or sheets.
I’m quite pleased with my order and only wish I’d done it sooner. Also, I snagged them on sale, so even better!
